Abstract
This paper presents the development of automated furniture system using the principles of mobile robotics for synchronized movement of chairs and tables which allow configuration of environments to suit the needs of use in a designed work space. The furniture position is given by the information provided by sensors of proximity and distance coupled to each component of furniture which give the orders to the systems to determine their spatial location, the surrounding elements and, the operating environment for decide autonomously displacement under constant communication with the other elements of the system to build the selected configuration.
