Abstract :
Forward Raman amplification using FBG-stabilized diodes yields higher signal RIN than expected from the Raman-gain-mediated transfer function. We demonstrate that this extra noise originates from pump-signal nonlinear parametric interactions, even far from the phase-matching condition.
