Abstract :
We present the design of a home media center that has all the functionality of a DVD player and also provides networking and streaming capabilities. Clients can be PC or dedicated thin clients ("spigots") that can receive digital content over a home network, decode it and play it back on existing TV or stereo systems. A reference design for such a "spigot" is also presented.
