Abstract
The increasing attention to the sustainable development and the electric energy market deregulation process provide interesting opportunities for the spread of renewable sources and, in particular, for the photovoltaic (PV) one. The paper presents the analysis of the impact that renewable solar electric energy sources have on the quality of the supply both in case of stand-alone and grid connected power systems. At the end, some economical aspects are presented and discussed in order to include power quality effects on the PV system cost evaluation.
