Abstract :
Single-carrier transmission with frequency-domain equalization (SCT/FDE) is today recognized as an attractive alternative to orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) for wireless applications with large channel dispersions. In this paper, we investigate iterative frequency-domain decision- feedback equalization (FD/DFE), which significantly improves performance with respect to linear equalizers optimized under the minimum mean-square error (MMSE) or the zero-forcing (ZF) criterion. We introduce a new FD/DFE and compare it to previously proposed equalizers.
