Abstract :
Identification of an individual using its fingertip impression is becoming most common today. Identification and authentication are used to declare the correct and true identity of a user. But an important shortcoming of these systems has shown that it is very easy to deceive the fingerprint scanners using artificial replicas of original fingerprints. In order to address this, it is need to identify the spoofing attempt using artificial fingers. Each time some life signs from these fingerprints are detected. Here we are processing the fingerprints through various preprocessing steps. The result of these steps will tell whether the two prints are matching or not. After it, using the various histogram related features we will recognize the spoof attack. A detailed mathematical calculation for these properties is carried out so that the vitality confirmation of these fingerprints is done.
