Abstract :
Impedance-measuring relays are prone to errors arising from ground fault resistance, prefault system conditions, mutual effects of parallel lines and shunt capacitance. This paper presents adaptive relaying solutions for these problems. Considerations for adaptive distance relaying such as heavy load and swing conditions are also discussed
