Abstract :
We introduce the RDEA block cipher. RDEA is an evolutionary implementation of DES (data encryption standard). RDEA has new features include the use of pseudo randomized cipher key in encryption algorithm and the creation of a new protocol for sending cipher key embedded in the cipher text. The use of pseudo randomized cipher keys greatly increases the diffusion achieved per block, allowing greater security and higher throughput. The algorithm was implemented using DSP and was successfully tested for text, image, and audio signals. The results show improvement in performance in comparison with conventional DES
