Abstract :
The use of machine vision technology in automatic verification of steel tape can effectively increase the efficiency and the accuracy. Image binarizing process is important in automatic verification system. the binarization method of steel tape has been mainly researched, According to the characteristics of steel tape images, A new binarization method of steel tape based on homomorphic filtering and edge detection use improved Sobel operator, edges and borders within images can be kept well. Simulated result using MATLAB and the experimental result is also on the paper.
