Abstract :
Summary form only given. We have calculated the electron-electron scattering contribution to the electrical resistivity in the two transverse directions (p/sub b/sup /spl perp/ and p/sub c//sup /spl perp/) for an anisotropic tight-binding cosine band. Using the standard variational method, we have found similar expressions, p/sup /spl perp/ = /spl alpha/T + /spl beta/T/sup 2/, for both directions. For the b direction /spl alpha/ /spl tilde/ t/sub b//sup-2/ and /spl beta/ /spl tilde/ t/sub b//sup -3/, and for the c axis /spl alpha/ /spl tilde/ t/sub b//sup-2/ while the expression for /spl beta/ is more complicated. The above formulae are compared with experimental data for the Bechgaard salts.
