Abstract :
We have examined the tunneling potential between two carbon nanotubes (CNTs) immersed in a dielectric matrix, with each pair of them being in a different geometrical configuration to each other. We have found that this potential may differ significantly from pair to pair even when the distance between them is the same and hence the transmission coefficient between CNTs is heavily dependent on geometrical configuration and cannot be evaluated by a simple 1-dimensional theory.
