Abstract
A firm is modelled such that its organisational structure becomes apparent, and a production function is proposed accordingly. A so called organisational factor reflects the structure´s contribution to value adding. Its values are computed and compared against four organisational typologies, and concluded that specific organisation typologies can be categorised by a specific value of the organisational factor. It is also calculated for several European countries and their economic activity sectors.
