Abstract :
A novel opto-electrical tunable dispersion compensator with a tuning time lower than 150 mus is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. Compensation of 0-340 ps/nm for a 40 Gb/s NRZ signal is achieved. Compensation tunability relies on a single parameter which is tunable power splitting between two dispersive media. The considered dispersive media are a fiber mirror, with zero CD, and a linearly chirped fiber Bragg grating (LCFBG).
