Abstract
In order to meet the specifications of wideband and compact, a polarization reconfigurable slot antenna fed by CPW is proposed in this paper. Unlike the former designs, the switchable polarizations in slot can be excited by a single CPW structure. Compact feed is realized by switching the two orthogonal modes in CPW. The antenna is simulated to validate the structure. Obtained results show bandwidths of two switchable polarizations are 630 MHz (26.3%) and 590 MHz (24.6%) with return loss better than -10 dB. The simulated gain is better than 4.03 dBi and 2.12 dBi for both polarizations in the WLAN band of 2.4-2.484 GHz. Considering the simulation is made in ideal situation, without the insertion loss introduced by PIN diodes and their bias circuit. In the future research, the antenna will be fabricated and tuned for better performance.
