Abstract :
The original depot repair strategy for the B-2 avionics called for the prime contractor to acquire the automatic test equipment (ATE) and the test program sets (TPS). However, faced with reductions in support budgets, the B-2 System Program Office (SPO) was forced to reconsider this strategy. Under the revised strategy the ATE would be acquired through the prime contractor while the TPSs would be developed using organic and private industry resources. Program Management (PM) responsibility for this program was assigned to OC-ALC/LALR, the B-2 Avionics Support Branch. This paper presents an overview of the activities to date for the establishment of the B-2 avionics organic depot. Also, a review of the rationale for the decision to organically develop support is provided along with key risk reduction features of the program
