Abstract :
In this research, we have developed a wireless sensor network system using 128-ary frequency shift keying (128-FSK) where transmitted packets do not have a preamble and an error check code for low power wireless communication. For example, in the case that 8 bits of preamble, 14 bits of ID and measured data, and 8 bits of error check code are transmitted, only 2 symbols are transmitted when this system is used. In this case, the power consumption of the wireless communication except for initial operations of RF circuits can be decreased by 2/30. Previously, we showed the new protocol and some simulation results. This paper reports the communication was successfully realized without receiving unwanted signals using a developed wireless sensor node with a custom LSI and a receiver. The power consumption of the wireless communication in which 14 bits of data were transmitted was about 44 micro Ws.
