Abstract :
The paper compares three analytical models of the shadowing function for random rough surfaces. The comparison is based on a simulation model. When the terrain is more correlated over broader regions, all the shadow functions tend to coincide, but for rougher surfaces, we find that Smith´s function is in closer agreement with the simulation model while Wagner´s function is the least accurate
