Abstract
Land cover and land use classes, having similar spectral characteristics are ambiguous for digital interpretation. This work suggests a method for digital interpretation of land use classes from satellite images. It is based on fractal analysis of the classified classes of interest. Thus, the spatial feature of land use classes, distinguishing the land cover classes are taken into consideration. This method can be customised in an automated image interpretation system.
