Abstract
A new modified geometry for a hybrid microstrip/dielectric resonator antenna has been presented. The simulated gain remains over 14 dB for a large portion of the 10 GHz impedance bandwidth. The side lobe levels are also lowered with the addition of a metallic cavity. Future work may include adding a MMIC low noise amplifier on the feed substrate to create an integrated receiver front-end.
