Abstract :
According to the disadvantages existing in the current methods of simulating Pearson type III distribution, a direct sampling method based on Microsoft Office Web Components was proposed. By calling the functions of the Spreadsheet control, the high-precision direct sampling simulation of Pearson type III distribution was achieved. With the Chart Space control as a container to the charts, the histogram of the random series can be contrasted with the theoretical density curve of Pearson type III distribution visually. Simulation results show that this method has the merits such as high precision, no limit on the size of skewness coefficient (Cs), etc. and is worth popularizing.
