Abstract
This paper expands upon the 2012 IEEE conference publication titled “15 kV 600A Loadbreak Dead-front Separable Insulated Connector System” [1] by the same author. The updated work expands the scope of the original to include 25 and 35 kV class 600 A loadbreak connector systems, some ancillary products, additional technologies researched, and additional test results. Some of the salient background information from the original paper is repeated herein to aid the reader. The resulting work conveys the solution to obtaining easier and safer visible breaks for line crews using 600 A loadbreak dead-front separable connectors while operating 15, 25, or 35 kV underground distribution systems.
