Abstract :
An interchange can be a useful and an adaptable solution for many intersection problems either by reducing existing traffic bottlenecks or by improving safety only if it is based on reasonable location. In this paper, the major influencing factors of urban road interchange location are presented by analyzing the traffic characteristics and the actual state of site planning in China. The principles of urban road interchange location are proposed combined with bridge engineering, urban design, and urban transport planning considering structure, shape, landscape and other factors, in reference to the domestic and international information and technical standards, fully aware of the interchange construction experience at home and abroad, on the basis of the urban road network as an organic whole, in line with the traffic composition and the traffic characteristics. Spatial decision support system (SDSS) is applied so that the overall urban transport system to achieve optimal efficiency.
