Abstract :
A study is made of the current distribution and input impedance of a perfectly conducting straight strip antenna immersed in a homogeneous anisotropic medium such as a magnetized plasma. It is assumed that the antenna is perpendicular to the direction of an external static magnetic field. Integral equations for the antenna current are obtained. On the basis of their solution, approximate expressions for the current distribution and input impedance of a sufficiently narrow strip antenna are derived. The expressions are given in the form suitable for numerical computations which are performed for the practically important case of a magnetized plasma modeled upon the Earth´s ionosphere.
