Abstract :
A single-phase converter made up of MOSFET switches is analyzed using the simulation package I-G SPICE. The authors present the steady-state performance of a single-phase induction motor fed by one such converter. The nonsinusoidal output waveform of the converter is resolved into various harmonics and then applied to the respective harmonic equivalent circuits of the motor. For a given value of motor speed, the stator current waveform and the torque and power developed by the motor are obtained using digital simulation.<>
