Abstract
Frequency converters have received considerable attention during the past decade. To improve price, volume, weight, reliability, and performance, the trend has been set to rely mainly on semiconductors while removing unnecessary passive components. Among the various converter structures proposed to compete with rectifier-inverter structures, direct frequency converters share the capability of integrating high-tech semiconductors and advanced PWM techniques. A space vector direct frequency converter is considered. The converter requirements of switching frequencies are highly reduced and quite practical over a wide range of output frequency
