Abstract :
A new instrument for real-time vibration measurements, especially designed for the inspection of ultrasonic welders, was realized and characterized. Optical triangulation is the measurement principle, studied for achieving a very good resolution within a short dynamic range. The proposed instrument was calibrated and experimentally validated by comparing its measurements with the ones obtained by a self-mixing laser vibrometer.
