Abstract :
This paper presents an analytical method to calculate the output harmonic characteristics of PWM H-bridge converters with dead time. A three-dimensional (3-D) model derived for generating the pulse-width-modulated (PWM) pulse train is used to consider the effects of dead time. The harmonic characteristics are obtained by applying the double Fourier series to the output PWM waveform. The results obtained by this new technique are verified with simulations using PSpice
