Abstract
Summary form only given. We believe we report on the first systematic study of the effect of pulse length on X-ray production in cluster targets. We show the effect of pulse length on soft X-ray production in argon. The clusters are formed from a supersonic gas jet backed with 600 psi Ar. X-ray yield is maximum when the pulse length is about 700 fs.
