Abstract :
The physical layer design for the Type A devices defined in the Ecma-387 standard for the 60 GHz wireless personal area networks is described and discussed. The performance of the physical layer is simulated and presented in terms of error rate versus signal to noise ratio, as well as operating range versus data rate. The results show that the performance of the physical layer supports the envisioned applications.
