Abstract :
Summary form only given. We report the THz emission spectroscopy for the coherent phonons excited in n-PbTe with high carrier concentration. PbTe has a NaCl-like crystal structure and only IR-active phonon modes, namely, the transverse optical (TO) mode at 0.95 THz and the longitudinal optical (LO) mode at 3.4 THz. We observed substantial increase of spectral amplitude at the LO phonon frequency with the increase of the carrier concentration, while the frequency of the spectral peak remained unchanged.
