Abstract :
An approximate approach is proposed to analyze the end-to-end cutoff fraction performance in voice transmission through a tandem link network. Although the approximate analysis is not as accurate as that considered by Y. Lim and U. Tilmann (1986), it can nevertheless provide sufficient accuracy for practical purposes. Of particular significance is that the computational requirement of the authors approximate method, compared to that of Lim and Tillman, can be greatly reduced, especially for the analysis of large-scale networks.<>
