Abstract :
This paper proposes a method for speed control of two induction motors (IMs) fed by a single five-leg inverter (5LI) based on space vector modulation (SVM). The advantages of 5LI are reduced size, volume, reduced number of devices, and increased efficiency due to total lower losses. The SVM strategy that has been used for controlling the induction motor using three phase voltage source inverter cannot be used for controlling the 5LI for independent control of two motors. In this paper, a SVM strategy by separating the sampling time for control of two motors using 5LI is presented. The novelty of the proposed controller and the experimental results are presented.
