Pre-seminar tutorial session: Railway Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)

This tutorial provides an overview of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) in the railway environment to introduce the subject to those new to EMC and to ´set the scene´. EMI/EMC are defined; major sources of interference in the railway environment are identified; a summary of the EMC regulations is presented; the principal railway EMC standards are identified and an introduction is given to EMC measurement.
