Abstract
The work investigated compound entities, namely spatially bound LB complexes with angular momentum, called Vortex LBs (VLBs). An experimental excitation scheme using a discrete phase plate, generating a pump beam with the desired angular momentum, is discussed, while retaining the threefold symmetric field pattern with high field overlap with the desired modal field of the discrete VLB.
