Abstract
The authors have developed a knowledge-acquisition support system for hierarchical classification problems. This system, which is based on a personal construct theory from the field of psychology, aids in the construction of a hierarchy of the items to be classified. The support function uses the concepts of fuzzy entropy and information entropy to generate the hierarchy with a minimum number of consultation questions.<>
