Abstract
We present an optimization framework for transmitting VoIP packets generated by a multi-rate voice encoder over error-prone wireless links. Our proposed framework aims at identifying the optimal joint source channel coding rates of each voice frame based on the frame perceptual importance such that the quality of the received speech signal is maximized. Simulation results show that our proposed framework outperforms its literature counterparts and has a low computational complexity.
