Abstract :
A high-performance phase shifter based on vector phase modulation was designed using a segmented dual-gate distributed amplifier MMIC (monolithic microwave integrated circuit). The phase shifter has equalled the widest instantaneous bandwidth yet reported (4.5-18 GHz). This device exhibits excellent phase error, VSWR (voltage standing wave ratio), and amplitude variation characteristics.<>
