Abstract :
Satellite user terminals are widely used on different types of vehicles as a means of obtaining reliable voice and data communications. The paper describes a low-profile reflector array design that is suitable for use on aircraft, trains and trucks and does not suffer from the high cost, poor discrimination and limited coverage of a phased array. This contiguous paraboloid design can be configured for full duplex operation and as a receive-only array.
