Abstract :
We calculate the dispersion characteristics of the Kerr-like nonlinear photonic crystal directional coupler, which can be used as an all-optical switching device. A numerical tool based on a finite-difference time-domain method recently proposed is used. The results obtained show how the induced nonlinearity changes the dispersion characteristics.
