Abstract :
Modelling of single section to three-section 3 dB balanced power dividers has been performed taking into account recently developed chip resistor CAD models. Real resistors may significantly degrade the isolation of the divider´s output ports and considerably affect the input reflection coefficients. Re-optimising of divider counteracts this effect, leading to circuit parameters close to those that would be obtained with perfect resistors. Practical example of a microstrip divider designed and optimised for high isolation in the GSM and DCS frequency bands supports the numerical results.
