Abstract :
This paper presents an efficient and reliable evolutionary programming based algorithm for solving economic load dispatch problem with valve point loading. The superiority of EP and HEP methods has been demonstrated for 3 unit system by performing valve point curves including losses. It has been observed that the HEP outperforms the other methods in solving power system economic load dispatch problem in terms of convergence rate, and quality and success rate
