Exploration of public facilities design in aging society

With the aging population increasing, the public facilities design has aroused more concern and research. The paper attempts to link with the backdrop of aging society to analyze the problems in existing public facilities design. It sets up the Design Concept “Centered on the Elderly, Balanced the General”; proposes the design principles of universality, security and easy of use; analyzes the color selection of public facilities design by a sample survey of old people and makes suggestions for public facilities design elements such as materials and new technologies, etc.
