  • Abstract
The authors study a coded reduced-bandwidth quadrature-amplitude-modulation (RB-QAM) system which combines some bandwidth-efficient coding techniques with the RB-QAM and provides further improvement in power efficiency without any bandwidth expansion. An interleaver/deinterleaver decision-feedback equalizer is used at the receiver to compensate for the intentionally introduced intersymbol interference. Theoretical analysis and simulation results indicate that a coding gain of several decibels over the uncoded RB-QAM can be achieved.<>
