Abstract :
With the ever-increasing use of and technological advancements made in personal computers (PCs), it is now possible to edit and encode video using software. Parallel processing is possible with low-price PCs. We have developed a parallel encoding system for a cluster Grid with multi-core PCs. The transmission between PCs may become bottlenecked if an uncompressed video image is the first sent. We propose a simple compression method in this paper that can be transmitted via a LAN and also present our performance evaluation.
