Abstract
This paper presents the design and implementation of a hybrid microgeneration system based on two renewable energy sources and a storage battery. The wind energy interface is made using a three-phase diode rectifier and a step-up DC-DC converter; the photovoltaic panels have a modular DC-DC converter with high voltage gain and based on the micro-inverter approach and the batteries are managed through a dual active bridge DC-DC converter. The sources share a common DC-bus and the three-phase grid interface uses a DC-AC converter. Design procedures for the converters and their controllers are discussed and simulation and experimental results are presented. The experimental platform allows the development, test and validation of different management strategies of the energy system.
