  • Abstract
    A new type of permanent magnet (PM) in permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) for decreasing the rotor eddy current losses is proposed. The new type of PM is applied in the finite element analytical model, and the predicted eddy current losses are compared with the losses deduced from the old type. The predicted results verify that the new type of PM is effective to decrease the eddy current losses
