Abstract
It is an urgent requirement to train high-quality innovative talents and enhance students´ innovate ability for colleges and universities in teaching and research. It was analyzed in this paper that the common modern design methods was used to the cultivation of students´ innovative ability of metallurgical machinery, which was introduced to the professional teaching of metallurgical machinery. Taking computer-aided design, computer aided engineering, optimization design and reliability design of modern design methods as examples and through the study of the backup rollers of existing ZR mill in rolling mill machinery, the students´ innovate ability was greatly enhanced, and it was of great significance to improve comprehensively the quality of higher education and the talent powerful strategies.
