Abstract
A multistage transformer model for high-frequency transient operation is established, and its time-domain and frequency-domain mathematical formulations are given. Techniques to estimate the equivalent circuit parameters are introduced based on their mathematical formulation. The emphasis is on the identification of the parameters through the instrumental variable method in time domain and the maximum neighborhood method in frequency domain. Detailed models are formulated for the estimation. The estimation results for the single-stage lumped parameter model are given
