Abstract
Laboratory investigation of the effect of harmonics on induction watthour meters is presented. The study is focused on the effects of harmonics when they are injected from the source side and from the load side. The studies indicate that the watthour meters give negative error when the frequency is injected from the source side. Moreover, higher negative error was observed for even-order harmonics. An insignificant error was observed when similar studies were repeated from the customer side
