Abstract
This work investigates the behavior of a well known dynamic channel allocation scheme (DCA), channel segregation, when associated to two different automatic uplink power control schemes. The two objectives sought with this association are improved capacity over the isolated use of the DCA scheme, and a better distribution of the signal to interference ratio (SIR) due to an optimized use of transmission power. Simulation results show that indeed this can be achieved, but not without some costs
